Happy Thanksgiving!
Turkey Day is one of our favorite American traditions. What could be better than an entire day dedicate to food, family, and football? In honor of Thanksgiving gluttony, I will take a moment to remind you that, while an occasional extra treat is okay, it is extremely important to monitor your pet's diet to avoid obesity. Obesity in pets contributes to the risk of musculoskeletal disorders, cardiovascular problems, diabetes, certain cancers, hypertension, and immune dysfunction - lots of reasons to feed your pet a healthy diet! Royal Canin has an excellent diet for weight management for cats and dogs. It provides all needed vitamins and minerals and creates a feeling of fullness so your pet is less likely to overeat or beg for more. Check it out on our online pharmacy here: Royal Canin Calorie Control Diet

Jerky Treat Alert
Speaking of dog treats, watch out for those delicious jerky treats made of chicken, beef, and sweet potatoes. According to the FDA, various brands of jerky treats are killing pets, although the exact reason is still unknown. I advise to err on the side of safety and avoid all jerky treats. If your dog has recently eaten jerky treats and may be sick, look for the following symptoms: lethargy, decrease in activity, vomiting, diarrhea, increased water consumption, loss of appetite. If your pet is displaying any of these symptoms, please call us immediately!  They can be treated if it's caught in time. Watch the VIDEO here.

Feel free to contact us with any questions regarding these tips, for help with our online pharmacy, or to schedule a house call. Refer a friend and get special discounts.  It's easy - just forward this email!

Sincerely,
